Padlet is an online bulletin board that teachers and students can use to collaborate, manage and share digital content. Padlet offers many interactive and collaborative features, making it an excellent learning platform to use with your students. You can create exchange tables for your class and invite students to join. As a teacher and admin, you have access to certain administrative privileges to make the padlet an environment in which everyone can participate in building and sharing knowledge for pupils and students. How do you use Padlet in your teaching?

How is the board prepared?
To create a board, login to your account, click "Padlet" and select the Padlet template. There are seven models to choose from:
- Wall: Arrange the contents in Brick Design.
- Broadcasting: arrange the content from top to bottom for easy reading. "
- Grid: Organize content into rows and boxes.
- Shelf: Organize contents into a set of columns.
- Map: Add content to points on the map.
- Canvas: “Split content, group it, and combine it the way you want.”
- Timeline: Place the content on a horizontal line.
Under Select the model you're interested in, click Select and follow the instructions to customize your color palette. Give a title and a brief description. You can also change the look of your Padlet by changing the color scheme, font, and wallpaper. Set your post options, including: recognition (choose whether or not you want the author's name to appear on each post), comments (when it's active, viewers can comment on posts), and comments. You can enable four types of comments for your posts: rating (assigning numerical ratings to posts), star (setting 1-5 stars), rating (assigning numerical ratings to posts) and like. Content filtering is another major feature that you need to install when creating your own Padlets. How to add letters to your pads
Once you have created your badlet, you can start adding posts. You have several content options to add to your color palettes:
- Download: Download different types of files for your messages.
- Audio Recorder: Use your computer's microphone to record and add audio .
- Drawing: Use the Padlet drawing tool to create drawings and save them in your messages.
- Camera: Take pictures with your computer camera and add them to your posts.
- Video Recorder: Use your computer's microphone and camera to record video and add to your messages.
- Screen Recorder : Install Chrome Padlet Enhancement to start recording your screen and add screen captions to your panels.
- Location: Use Google Maps to easily add space to your placements.
- Links: Add links by pasting URLs.
- Pictures and GIFs: To search for pictures and GIFs, use Padlet's built-in search service to add pictures and GIFs to your Padlets.
You can also search for and add content from YouTube, Spotify, and the Internet. For example, to add content to the web, enter a search query, click on the search results that interest you, and add them directly to your Padlet. Same process with adding content to YouTube or Spotify.
Sharing options and privacy settings
When it comes to sharing your color palette with others, you have many options. You can share it via QR code, post code, broadcast, email on social media sites like Twitter and Facebook or directly in Google Classroom. You can also export your widgets as PDF, CSV, and Excel spreadsheets.
You also have complete control over the privacy of the Padlet you enter elsewhere. You can choose to save:
- Private: The platforms are hidden from everyone and inaccessible even if someone tries.
- Password Protected: Platforms are always hidden, but you can share them with others and access them with a password.
- Members Only: Platforms are hidden and only available to registered members.
- Hidden: Panels are hidden, but you can access them when you share them with others.
- Public: Open to the general public for access and viewing.
Invite members to your Padlets
It's a great collaborative feature to use with your students. You can invite members by name, username or email address. When you invite members, you control what they can do with your Padlets. You can choose:
- Read-only: Only members can view posts, but they cannot add or edit posts, accept other people's posts, edit posts, delete or invite employees.
- They can write: Only members can view and write posts, but they cannot edit or accept other people's posts, edit posts, or delete or invite contributors.
- Can be edited: Members can view, add, edit, and approve other people's posts, but they cannot edit and delete panels or invite employees.
- Administration : Members can view, add, edit, and receive messages from others. They can also edit panels, delete and invite employees.
Note that even if the padlet owner does not restrict access to his or her padlet, padlet helpers do not have to have a padlet account to add content to cross-platforms publicly. They can still add content, but their contributions will be flagged anonymously.
