YouGlish Helps ESL Students Improve Their English Pronunciation

Yuglish is a great website for students who want to learn English as well as English and any English grammar. A simple and easy way to type English. YouGlish alternates spoken words in real-time communication situations.

Yuglish ESL helps students improve their English pronunciation.

As a multilingual teacher and former EFL (English as a Foreign Language) teacher, I know how difficult it is to pronounce English. This is probably one of the most difficult features of learning English. So it was with my students, and so it was with me. When I started learning English in the mid-1990's, I spent a lot of time listening to the BBC, CNN and many other English language channels on my parents' satellite, listening to English. Dishes. There was no internet or youtube then.

But when I graduated in English from university, my first course was phonetic copy and I learned how to translate words. Since then, when I do research on the meaning of words, I always check the phonetic replicas of words. Since English pronunciation (and pronunciation) is distorted and unpredictable (e.g. difficult, sufficient, but not impossible), I believe that the key to learning English is phonetic transcription.

There are many web tools and mobile apps that can help students improve their English pronunciation. One of the main tools I use almost every day is Google Dictionary. Just tap on the Identify + sound (point to an avocado) and click on the icon to hear the sound out loud.

Alternatively, you can type "how to say + words" (say "avocado") in the Google search box and click the audible icon next to the phonetic copy of the word. You can switch between American and British verbs "above reading results".

The most interesting thing about English is that it provides many dialects or pronunciations in English. You can choose between Canadian English, American English, Australian English, British English, Scottish English, Irish English and New Zealand English. Or you can select "All" to access all these tracks

Another great feature that helps English students learn English, and especially as a foreign language, is the correct use of the language. That is, spoken words are constructed in the context of a real, popular science. In this way, students not only learn how to pronounce the word correctly, but also the context in which the word is used.

Learning how to pronounce words is one thing, and learning how to use these words in real speech. Learning to use language is more important than learning statistics and syntax. But this discussion is beyond the scope of this post, maybe I will mention it in the next post.

Yuglish provides the ability to view common live video titles and the meaning of any word in the title. In fact, YouGlish's translation feature is amazing. When you click on a word, you'll find a dictionary and grammar, synonyms, examples of online usage, and the ability to translate it into different languages.

ESL students can use the video button below to record words for themselves, upload their readings, and share them with their teachers, parents, or colleagues. They hear it themselves and compare it to the pronunciation of the local speakers. When it comes to learning, there is nothing more than practice, and YouGlish's registration feature is definitely a good feature to use in that regard.

When you look at the English pronunciation page , you'll see "word off", a set of suggested words that are more or less the same as the word you're looking for (like a homophone). Practicing these words is designed to help students improve their pronunciation.

In the phonology section, students learn how to translate that word into English, and at the bottom of the page, Yuglish gives English advice to learners and language teachers to improve their pronunciation.

For example, when I search for avocados, Yuglish returns more than 2,000 YouTube tracks.

In the Tips for Speaking Good English section, you have shared a few basic techniques to help you learn to pronounce the word avocado. These include splitting a word into words, focusing on punctuation, copying yourself when speaking, working with words, and more.

After all, English is a great online tool to use with ESL students and in language courses. It really helps students to improve their speaking skills and become good local speakers. I'm adding it to my ESL pages here at educatorstechnology.com.
